My sweetie and I had a much needed kid free, time together day last weekend. I own a boat, it's not a big boat, it's a pontoon, and sweetie pie is the captain of my boat. When someone asks you to pray

When someone messages you, calls you, asks you to pray for them, do you? Like really? Or do you say “yes of course” and no matter how good your intentions, you forget? It’s a courtesy when we agree, kind of like holding the door open for someone older, I am trying my hard level best to pray right then, when I am asked. Just some thoughts: Proverbs 21:31

Proverbs 21:31 KJV The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the Lord . When I was doing my devotionals this morning I came across this verse. (of course it's Proverbs! Its my favorite!) This got me to thinking (I know, scary), no matter how much we prepare for something, things we know are coming, a scheduled surgery, a two week wait for a hurricane, we prepare, we get ready, we hunker down, stock supplies, pack bags for a hospital stay. All we do to prepare, our most valuable thing to pack is our faith. Our ability to go to God to strengthen us, be with us till the finish. We pray for the hurricane to turn away from us (I know, as Christians we wouldn't want it to hit someone else, but honestly, you know that's what we pray for. When we are being honest.), to decrease in strength, for the doctor to be in a good mood and have steady hands. We invite Him to be in it all. But what about the stuff we don't see coming?
