Hebrews 4:16 New King James Version (NKJV)
16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. There is no better feeling in this world than to know that when you are down, depressed, hurting, and just generally a total wreck, there are people in your life that will hit their knees for you.
Everyone should have those kind of people in their life, and in a perfect world, everyone would be that kind of person.
I have my prayer warriors, people who I can trust to pray when I ask them to pray.
People who will go before the throne of God for me.
Do you know how comforting that is? Do you have those people in your life?
If you don't, find them.
And better yet, be that person for someone else.
I pray that God brings people into my life that know, without a doubt, that when they need my prayers, they have them.
Sometimes it's a quick, "Father be with them today as they travel to ......." sometimes a little more in depth, "Jesus you know their heart and how they are hurting, lay Your comforting hand over them and bring so and so peace during this situation....." and sometimes it's on my knees, hands clasped together, eyes shut so tight tears start welling up, intercession for someone who needs Him desperately.
However it's done, I do it.
If you ask me to pray for you, I pray, right there, right then, probably while I'm talking to you, I'm praying over you. I learned that lesson early.
Don't tell someone you will pray for them and not, at the very least, drop a quick "Father help them"
When I text someone that I prayed for them, I tell them what I prayed, "I prayed for you today my friend, that He would be with you and steady you during this trial...." it feel like this keeps my "I prayed for you," or "I will pray for you" from being an empty response that really doesn't hold any kind of meaning.
We have a young evangelist that comes to our church, Brother Johnny, Reach My City, when I tell him, "Johnny, I prayed for your service today" I want him to have no doubt that I did exactly that.
If my BFF text me someone she knows who is in a bad situation, I pray for them, even if I don't know their name, He does, He knows who I am thinking about, their situation and what they need. All I need to do is pray, pray His blessings over them, and His comfort for them.
There are a few, small few ( don't need to overload the system) who I can text with every situation and I immediately know I have prayers going up for me when I need them. I have other people's prayers mingling with mine, rising to my Heavenly Father, interceding for me.
That is a powerful thing.
Be that person for someone, or a group of someones.
Don't judge, don't give advice, don't quote scripture. When someone asks you to pray for them, be the best warrior they have, just pray.
Father, I come before You today through the blood of our Savior Jesus Christ and ask you to grant this reader that special group, or person in their life that they can depend on for prayerful support, and Father that you would make them that person for someone else. Amen!
